The Cheese Van Story

When Lori and Todd got married in San Diego about 5 years ago, my sisters Laurie and Carol (Cac for short) attended the wedding which was held in a small town called Julian about an hour from San Diego. Before heading up to Julian, Cac went to Trader Joe’s and bought mass quantity food (mostly cheese but also some sausage and pie and I don’t even know what else). Why did she do this, you might wonder? I’m not really sure. It’s just one of those things people in my family are prone to. A compulsion I suppose. Anyway, on the way back to San Diego after the wedding, Cac and Laurie (and Cac’s daughter Des and her two kids) went speeding down the interstate at about 80 miles an hour all the while stuffing their faces with mostly cheese and some sausage and pie and I don’t even know what else. Apparently, Cac was eating pie off a plate with a fork WHILE driving! Why did she do this, you might wonder? I’m not really sure. I think it was because she was flying back to Wyoming soon and had to eat up all the food she bought. Although it is also true that people in my family will use almost any excuse to eat a whole bunch of cheese! This has ever after been referred to as the “Cheese Van Incident of 2005″ in which several family members almost died for the sake of not wasting perfectly good cheese.

^(hangs head in shame…..while eating cheese)

Well let’s be honest here. There is no good reason for wasting cheese and that includes threat of death. We’ve all done shameful things in the pursuit/enjoyment of cheese.
